A Dream

I dreamt about her yesterday. It was one of those dreams you can’t get rid off. A dream that perpetuates its way through the night prevailing over the REM cycle breaks.
I was in a car and she was pacing on the road taking a turn here and a turn there. I kept breaking the signals and lane rules to keep up with her, going wrong way occasionally, trying to catch up to her and get a glance over her face. The beautiful oval face and the smile that added tenfold to her beauty.
She could have chosen to move away from the street where my car couldn’t have followed her. I could have chosen to not violate the signals and moved on. Neither did.
The dream had no conclusion. All I remember waking up to is the comforting feeling of seeing her face. Seeing her near me.
It's not the dream that hurts. It's the realization that it never was; it never will be.
