My heart aches

Aches for a life gone past


Such a fool I was

To think it would last


Memories, like wine,

Only get sweeter, with the passage of time


We dig the past for solace

If only the present we would embrace


The bittersweet melancholy of past day

Contrary to the moment, it will forever stay


To cure cancer, we think, is to thrive

While the deadliest of all, keeps us alive


In lazy mornings and sleepless nights,

The curse of saudade wouldn't leave your sight
